Bernice A RufferBernice A. Ruffer, age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 6, 2015 at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, Ohio, where she had been a resident since 2008.

She was born on February 16, 1920, near Napoleon to Leah (Bickford) and Julius Rohrbaugh. She was a 1938 graduate of Napoleon High School. On June 24, 1944 she married Robert Ruffer, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2003. Bernice was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm near Stryker. She loved gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Evansport United Methodist Church.

Bernice is survived by her five children: Roger (Connie) Ruffer of Hartland, MI, Ralph (Cathy) Ruffer of Ney, Rickie (Cindy) Ruffer of Stryker, Colleen (Carl) Henry of Stryker and Cindy of Norwalk; and also close family friend, Lisa Cossin. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Josh (Dawn) Ruffer, Tim (Abbey) Ruffer, Mook (Courtney) Ruffer, Sarah Ruffer, Kristopher (Samantha) Ruffer, Melissa (Adam) Andres, and Chelsea Henry. Great-grandchildren surviving are Bradyn, Reese, Molly, Morgan, Lincoln and Lilly Ruffer and Adysen, Noah & Liam Andres.

Additional survivors include her brother, Milford (Joyce) Rohrbaugh of Napoleon, sister, Phyllis (Kenny) Creager of Thomasville, GA and sister-in-law, Jeanelle Rohrbaugh of Bryan.

Besides her husband, Bernice was preceded in death by two grandchildren; Katie and Matthew Ruffer; five brothers, Homer, Clarence, Clyde, Julian and Donald Rohrbaugh, as well as six sisters; Clara French, Jessie Clymer, Miriam Detmer, Irene Willeman Wenner, Pauline Scheele, and Marilyn Wenner.
