Never Let Go Ministries Hosts Local Students For Red Ribbon Week

November 12, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Never Let Go Ministries hosted Red Ribbon Week at their office in Edgerton on Thursday, October 31 for the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from St. Mary’s Catholic School.

Mary Juarez shared her son’s story of his addiction as the students sat quietly and listened to the message she gave them. Victor also shared with them the consequences of their choices in life.

Each student was given a NLG bag which contained several items to remember Red Ribbon Week and its meaning.

Some of the items included a drug free activity book, pen, sticker, water bottle, (pledging to be drug free), among many other items.

Door prizes of NLG t-shirts, NLG blankets, devotionals, and drawstring bags were given. The teachers received a bag with educational material about alcohol and drug use and the signs to look for in our youth.

The very first Red Ribbon Week talk that Mary presented was to the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at St. Mary’s school back in October of 2010, six months after Mary’s son had died from an overdose of prescription pills. Mary has presented to the school every year since that day.
