The Williams County Genealogical Society Met on Oct. 12, at the West Annex to the Bryan Public Library. Tanya Brunner was the guest speaker. Her topic, “The Importance of Remembrance…The War of 1812 and the wars that followed” was very informative. She explained how the British tried to once again control the United States by pushing their way back into our country. She told of the many battles that took place including the bloody massacre of US soldiers in French Town, Michigan. Instead of defeating the US, the British only fueled the fire against them. Once again, the US defeated the British. She also reminded them to never forget what all our military men and women did through the years to protect our freedom.

On Dec. 10, 2012, 6:30pm, the society will meet for their Annual Christmas Party in the Harmon Room, West Annex of the Bryan Public Library, Bryan, Ohio. Come and join in the holiday spirit with delicious treats, wonderful company and learn about our past. Please bring a snack food to share. Plates, tableware and drinks will be provided. Members will share a “Tip” or “Show and Tell” an item from the past.
