For 28 years, Rita’s Family Dining, named after founder Rita Wehrle, has been a family-style restaurant featuring home-style cooking in Edgerton. Hoping to continue that legacy, new owner David Motter officially cut the ribbon on Monday, September 29, at 4:30 p.m.

The ribbon-cutting was attended by members of Mainstreet Edgerton, Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles, Mayor Bob Day, and several longtime employees.

Motter proudly retains the Rita’s Family Dining name and intends to continue offering the same food and service the community has come to know.

Via Facebook, Administrator Fitzcharles announced the ownership change and quoted David as saying he and the Rita’s Family Dining team are committed for the long haul, not just keeping Rita’s running but strengthening it as a true gathering place for Edgerton and the community.

Throughout the transition process, Rita’s has remained open and will implement the return of the salad bar on Tuesday, September 30.

With the transition complete and the salad bar officially back, the community is encouraged to stop in, see some familiar faces, and welcome the new era of Rita’s Family Dining.
