NWOAL FOOTBALL: Wauseon Pounds Bryan 49-14 For First Win Of Season

Wauseon 49, Bryan 14

WAUSEON – After getting shutout in its last two games, the Wauseon Indians put together their best offensive output of the season and also notched their first victory of the season with a 49-14 pounding of Bryan in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League matchup.

Wauseon quarterback Kahle Albright threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score.


Two of his scoring passes went to Logan Peaslee covering 25 and 39 yards, and the other went to Xzavier Molina on a 49-yard strike in the third quarter.

Albright, who completed 5 of 9 passes for 121 yards, also scored a three-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Also scoring for the Indians (1-7, 1-4 NWOAL) were Landon Ballard (47 yards), A’Zarrion Hicks (three yards) and Julian Jasso (six yards).

Ballard tallied 79 yards on the ground on seven carries and Hicks had 54 yards on 11 rushes.


Freshman quarterback Jake Arnold connected with Hunter Watson (six yards) and Jacob Uran (30 yards) for both Golden Bears’ touchdowns.

Arnold was 8 of 18 for 102 yards through the air for Bryan (2-6, 1-4 NWOAL). Cade Carlin had 70 yards on the ground on 19 carries.

Both teams return to NWOAL action on Friday. Bryan (2-6, 1-4 NWOAL) hosts Archbold (7-1, 5-0 NWOAL) while Wauseon (1-7, 1-4 NWOAL) visits unbeaten Liberty Center (8-0, 5-0 NWOAL).
