The Williams County Agriculture Society convened its regular board meeting on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Thaman Building.
President Pam Goll called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a roll call. Nine Directors and three Auxiliary Directors were present.
The minutes from the September 2025 regular meeting were approved alongside the September Financial Report.
Committee reports included a maintenance update, which noted that preparations for winter have begun. Repairs for the FFA building were also discussed, with the doors and concrete pad needing attention.
Goll informed the board that $60,000 from the fair livestock auction has yet to be paid. With a total of $310,000 in sales, she is waiting for more money to come in before continuing with the checks.
The Outstanding Fair Supporter was chosen for the 2025 Williams County Fair. Susan Walker was recognized for her exceptional support during the county fair season.
In new business, members discussed preparations for the upcoming Ohio Fair Managers Association (OFMA) Convention, including covering room, registration, and parking costs for attendees representing the Williams County Agriculture Society. Tobi Fenicle was chosen as delegate, with Josh Balzer elected as the alternative.
The board approved payments for annual membership by keeping the cost at $5. They then passed a motion waving any pay benefits Directors received for the 2025-2026 year.
Discussion also included the upcoming rodeo, which was moved to be booked again for the upcoming fair. Rough E. Rodeo offered them a discount to keep prices from rising with inflation. This motion passed with no contest, with Scott Carroll abstaining from the vote.
Newly elected directors Josh Balzer and Margaret Harris were officially sworn into the Williams County Fair Board. Other elections followed, with Pam Goll being re-elected as President, Tom Fry re-elected as Vice President, and Scott Carroll re-elected as Secretary.
Under announcements, members were reminded that the OFMA Convention is scheduled for January 15-18, 2026, with those interested asked to confirm attendance by the next meeting.
The next district meeting will take place on October 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Thaman Building. The meeting was adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
