ARCHBOLD (November 7, 2025) – So, you want to win football games in November, huh? You want to win when it’s cold, and windy, and the grass is slick? You darn well better be able to run the football.

On a brisk, blustery night against Attica Seneca East, Archbold ran the ball just fine, predominantly in the person of Ryder Ryan.

Actually, the Streaks threw it pretty well too, as they bolted to a 30-6 halftime lead on their way to a 44-12 triumph over the Tigers in a Division VI Region 22 regional quarterfinal game at Archbold.

Archbold, who is now 9-2 on the year, will travel to Hopewell-Loudon (10-1) next Friday to play a regional semifinal.

Archbold got going on the first play of the night when Maddox Pinter hit Morgan Harris down the middle for 48 yards.

Five Ryan runs later, the junior running back covered a total of 30 yards, including the final two that gave Archbold a 7-0 lead just 1:53 into the game.

Ryan’s 31-yard burst on the next possession set up a Quinn Sauder 33-yard field goal to make it 10-0, and after Aranjer Krieger recovered a Tiger fumble, Archbold used a Pinter-to-Krieger 38-yard pass to set up Pinter’s 9-yard scoring strike to Collin Short that gave the Streaks a 17-0 lead with 1:19 left in the first.

Again, Archbold forced a Seneca East punt, and Ryan was at it again with runs of 15, 17, then 26 more to the end zone and a 24-0 Archbold advantage with 9:47 left in the half.

Nicholas Parks hit Branson Finnell for 24 yards, which, coupled with three Archbold penalties, put the Tigers in position for Parks to score from a yard away, but Archbold countered three minutes later as Pinter hit Krieger crossing the middle for a 21-yard TD strike that gave Archbold a 30-6 halftime lead.

Ryan romped for 141 first-half yards on 14 carries, while Pinter was 10-12 for 156 more. Parks aired it out 20 times in the first 24 minutes, completing 10 for 128 yards for Seneca East.

Archbold forced a three-and-out the first series of the second half, and when a bad snap on a punt gave Archbold possession at the Tiger 7, it took Ryan just two plays to punch in a score that initiated the running clock rule, as the Streaks opened a 37-6 lead.

With Parks looking downfield almost every play, Seneca East put together a drive that ate up the rest of the third quarter and into the fourth.

Parks’ 16-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Shultz momentarily stopped the running clock rule, but the Streaks re-instituted it a short time later when Ashton Stuckey capped a 59-yard march with a one-yard run for the final tally of the night.

Ryan finished with 150 yards on the ground for the night in 16 carries. Pinter finished 15-22 for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Parks ended up 18-33 for 281 for Seneca East, who finished the year at 8-4.
