On Sunday church and community members filled the fellowship hall of House of Prayer to honor Don Harris’s 35 Years of Pastoral Care. “Every place on which the sole of your foot threads I have given it to you. Joshua 1:3.” This is the verse that was put on “The Place” plaque presented in the fellowship hall in honor of Don. Come this January Don will step down as Senior Pastor and pass the torch to his son Benaiah to continue to touch lives with their ministry. Don Harris started his path with God back in 1973, and continued to bless lives from that day forward. Focusing more in the Northwest Ohio region Harris and wife GayLynn have established many churches including Eastland Baptist Church in Bryan Ohio, Living Word in Toledo Ohio, and House of Prayer in Montpelier. Other ministries established throughout the years also include “Helping Hands” Food Pantry, “Potter’s Hands” Regeneration Center, Feeding approx. 80+ Montpelier School faculty members and much more. Don and GayLynn Harris are true blessing to everyone in this community and have helped shape it into the great village Montpelier is today.
