BRYAN (February 2, 2026) – Not only was it Senior Night for the Bryan boys and girls swim teams, but it was also a record-setting performance by Nora Kunsman, who established a pair of school records during the Golden Bears’ final home meet against Bowling Green at the Williams County Family YMCA.
Kunsman broke her own record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.47 seconds, thus breaking her previous record of 23.50 seconds, which she had set at the Division II state meet last year.
Despite taking second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:25.85, Kunsman broke the previous record of 5:26.41 held by Hannah Goodrich in 2020.
Besides breaking a pair of school records in her final home meet, the senior standout also led off the victorious 200 medley relay, which also included Emma Elkins, Nicolette Stickney, and Drew Smith, with a time of 2:02.76. It also helped the Lady Bears to a 95-80 victory over Bowling Green to finish the season with a 9-2 record.
Elkins also captured the 100 breaststroke (1:17.39), and Kamryn Mills won the diving competition with 133.70 points.
On the boys’ side, the Golden Bears capped off a perfect 11-0 season with a convincing 121-55 victory over the Bobcats. Will McCann and Griffin Boehm led the Golden Bears’ effort as the duo combined for four individual first-place finishes and were also part of two victorious relay teams.
McCann captured the 100 freestyle (51.43) and 100 breaststroke (1:06.58). Boehm won the 50 freestyle (23.93) and 100 fly (59.71) events.
Other individual winners for the Golden Bears were Logan Slattery in the 200 IM (2:11.55) and 500 freestyle (5:21.42), Ethan Bailey in diving (231.75 points), and Carter Luce in the 100 backstroke (1:07.28).
Bryan swept all three relay events: the 200 medley relay of Bailey, Simon Kellogg, McCann, and Khira Alspaugh (1:52.5); the 200 free relay of Luce, Slattery, Brendan Roberts, and Boehm (1:33.72); and the 400 free relay of Boehm, Roberts, Joshua Sampson, and McCann (3:30.42).
