The Pulaski Township Trustees met in a regular session on Tuesday, March 10 at the township office.

Trustees in attendance were Terry Witte, Scott Noble, and Tom Saul. Also present was fiscal officer Deanne Batterson.

Following recent discussion regarding tree removal on a property located at 15284 County Road C, the trustees entered into an agreement with Glass City Timber Jacks of Toledo for the removal.

Trustees approved Glass City Timber Jacks’ bid of $4,800 to remove the tree. M&M of Blakeslee submitted the competing bid at $6,500.

The agreement will also require Glass City Timber Jacks to provide the required liability insurance documents before removing the tree.

In other action, trustees discussed the possibility of replacing the township lawn mower. Fiscal officer Deanne Batterson said the lawn mower is used only for township properties, including its parks and cemetery.

Should the township proceed to purchasing a new lawn mower, it will probably need to be paid out of the general fund or perhaps out of the special revenue fund.

Batterson noted that County Prosecutor Katie Zartman is checking some things and reviewing the legalities on the potential lawn mower purchase. Zartman has not yet responded to Batterson’s inquiry.

Trustees then tabled action on the potential lawn mower purchase until the next meeting. The township had already received a price quote of $12,534 for a new lawn mower.

In other action, the trustees discussed selling a John Deere snow blower either through the county auction or by advertising in the Ohio Township Association magazine, a bimonthly publication.

Trustees were reminded that the Township Safety Sign Grant program is underway. Applications for the grant, which covers up to $50,000, go toward the purchase of new road safety signs in the township. The deadline for the grant application is June 5, 2026.

Batterson reminded the trustees of the upcoming Pulaski Garden Club’s centennial celebration, which takes place on Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at the Pulaski Methodist Church.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m.
