2013 Dairy Ambassador Applications Available

Do you have a dairy farm background, work on a dairy farm or have you taken a Jr. Fair dairy project at the Fulton County Fair? Would you enjoy the opportunity to develop speaking and leadership skills, meet new people and learn more about the dairy industry? If so, you will want to apply for the 2013 Fulton County Dairy Ambassador.

The applicant, male or female must be single, and 16 years of age as of January 1, 2013 but no older than 21. The Dairy Ambassador will receive a cash award of $100 and a $350 scholarship toward a second year of college and will have an exciting and rewarding year, promoting and representing the dairy industry at various functions, including the annual Dairy Banquet in February, the June Dairy Meeting and Ice Cream Social, the Dairy Show on Labor Day at the Fulton County Fair, and other dairy promotional opportunities. Examples of other opportunities would be appearing at local festivals and parades; Sauder Village events; 4-H Camp Palmer in June; creating a radio ad and media interviews.

Applications for Dairy Ambassador can be requested by email at: 5JAcres@bright.net, or ngemmons@windstream.net. Applicants may call for applications at 419.445-6121 or 419.452.6764 if you do not have email. Completed applications should be returned by email to the following emails or mail to Emmons Farms, 15584 SH108, Fayette, OH 43521 and postmarked no later than February 8th. Applicants will be interview, judged, and will also be required to give a short speech of at least 3 minutes on “Why I Would Like to Promote the Dairy Industry” at the annual lunchtime Fulton County Dairy Banquet on February 18, 2013.
