On February nineteenth the Wauseon FFA Chapter officers spent the day with the sixth grade classes. During the day, the officers explained what the FFA was by having hands on learning activities that let the middle school students gain a better understanding of what the FFA is as well as have fun doing so.

While learning about the FFA they watched a slideshow where they learned about SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experiences) which each FFA member in high school must complete. They then broke up into small groups where they learned about different CDE’s (Career Development Events). The class was then broken into three groups where they rotated through the Wildlife CDE, the Landscaping CDE and finally the Animal Health CDE. At each rotation, students got a quick glimpse of what they could do during that CDE.

The goal of sixth grade recruitment was to prepare students and get them ready for their seventh grade ag class which they have the opportunity to enroll in for next fall.
