William J. BrennerWilliam J. Brenner, age 63, of Stryker, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, June 17, 2016 at Community Hospitals of Williams County, Bryan. Bill was an Attorney-At-Law in Stryker for many years.

Bill was born in Defiance on November 13, 1952, the son of Lawrence and MaDonna (Schindler) Brenner, who survive. A 1970 graduate of Stryker High School, he continued his education at the University of Toledo and went on to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Toledo Law School. Bill was very involved in the Stryker community where he had been a former Citizen of Year, currently served on the Stryker Library Board, and the Stryker Rotary Club. He had also served on the Springfield Township Fire Department for many years and served on Williams County EMS-Stryker for over 30 years. Bill was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Archbold. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Archbold and a member of the Ohio Bar Association.

Surviving, besides his parents, are two sisters, Linda (Raymond) Hertel of Antwerp, Mary (James) Burns of Maumee, nieces and nephews, a great-niece and two great-nephews and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation for Bill will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Archbold, where the Rosary will be Recited at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 23, 2016, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Stephen Stanbery, officiating.


The family requests that memorial contributions be given to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the Stryker Public Library or Springfield Township Fire Department. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
