Wauseon City Council To Keep Victim’s Advocate Position

The Wauseon City Council met briefly Jan. 3 to open 2017 before going into executive session.

Police Chief Keith Torbet told council the city was awarded the VAWA grant for the 23rd year. The grant is form $60,000 and will allow the department to keep the victim’s advocate without any cost to the city.

Director of Public Services Dennis Richardson reported to council he is reviewing the proposed agreement with Fulton County for the airport sewer. He is also working on closing the Linfoot Street Project. He has informed the architect for the pool project to revise the specs and get the bids ready to go out soon.

Council authorized Mayor Huner to enter a contract for fire protection with Dover Township.


Jerry Lange was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a five-year term ending Dec. 31, 2021.

Todd Myers was appointed to a six-year term on the Civil Service Commission ending Dec. 31, 2022.

Council appointed Sue Dieringer, Larry Fruth, Heather Kost and Rick Frey to three-year terms on Community Reinvestment Area Housing Council ending Dec. 31, 2019.


Kim Bowles and Frey were given three-year terms on the Tree Commission ending Dec. 31, 2019.
