BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Bryan 50, Swanton 41

The Golden Bears (9-5, 2-0) remained unbeaten in NWOAL play with the nine-point win. It was Peyton Lamberson’s night to shine as the Golden Bear leader finished with 19 points.  Despite the loss, the game’s leading scorer was Swanton’s Gunnar Oakes who scrapped his way to 21 points and also hit the boards with 10 offensive rebounds and three defensive boards. The Bulldogs moved to 4-9 and 0-2.

Wauseon 47, Archbold 40

The Indians took sole possession of first place in the NWOAL with a win over their archrival the Bluestreaks.  Wauseon (12-1, 2-0) opened up a 21-9 half-time advantage only to see the Bluestreaks (9-4, 1-1) catch fire in the second half closing to a 42-40 deficit at one points.  Key foul shooting by Brooks Gype and Austin Rotroff down the stretch secured the important win. Carter Bzovi was a senior on a mission for the Indians as he led all scorers with 19 points. Rotroff added 15 including two “Austin slammers”. Bryce Williams, after being held to two first half points, finished as Archbold’s leading scorer with 13.

GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Pettisville 35, Edon 27

After the Bombers held a 16-12 half-time advantage, The Blackbirds (12-3, 8-1) exploded for 22 points in the third period to help guide them to the BBC win. Morgan Leppelmeier led all scorers with 17 points for Pettisville. Edon (1-14, 1-8) was led by Hannah Kaylor who finished with 11 points.

Montpelier 55, Hilltop 30

By the half the  (5-9, 3-5) had the game well in hand with a 33-13 advantage. Montpelier got double digit performances by Jaelyn Lyons who led with 15, Rebekah Carr finished with 14 and Lauren Cooley added 13. Hilltop (5-11, 5-4) was led Aubrey Wyse with eight points.

GIRLS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL

Pettisville 26, Edon 24

No Game Stats Submitted.

Hilltop 30, Montpelier 28

This BBC contest was close throughout as both teams battled to the very end. The foul line was the difference in this game as the Cadets finished hitting on 8 of 17 from the charity stripe while the Locomotives, going to the line 31 times, converted on just 10 attempts. Hilltop was led by Noden with 12 points while Kimme Engels scored 11 points for Montpelier.

BOYS VARSITY BOWLING

Wauseon 2350, Liberty Center 2186

The Indians (8-3) rolled to a league win with the help of Nicolas Kearney and Quincy Rohda. Kearney rolled consistent scores of 204 and 211 to lead the Indians with a 423 series. Rohda started with a 161 but heated up in the second game for a 235 to finish with a 396.
