Delta School Board Sees Talent Of Many Students

The Delta High School Mixed Sax Quartet performed for the board. The group traveled to Bryan recently and had their music judged at a special competition. Even with a difficult judge, the foursome got the highest score and the judge wrote on the score sheet it was the highlight of her day.

The Elementary School’s DI Team presented a reading of their skit on dealing with Type 1 diabetes. The skit will include costumes and sets. They will be performing in a competition Feb. 25.

On the financial side, Treasurer Matt Feasal said the district hits it target for cash balance and overall finances are working out well. The district got an advance on the real estate tax from the county auditor and should get the remainder at any time.

The board accepted the following donations:
•$500 from Goodwill Industries for the Athletic Department.
•$400 from Fulton County Pork Producers for FCCLA.
•$1,045 from the Lions Club for Cory’s Backpack Buddies.
•$25 from Bev Laubenthal for Cory’s Backpack Buddies.
•$200 from the Lions Club for Cory’s Backpack Buddies.

The board accepted the following retirements:
•Cliff Battig, effective May 20; Kristine Demaline, effective May 31, Timothy Gillen, effective at the end of the school year and Lainie Wise, effective Feb. 3.


The board approved the following supplemental contracts:
•Jessica Hagerty, vocal music 7-12 (musical); Lindsay Roe, assistant softball coach and JoHanna Young, assistant softball coach.
•Gary Ebaugh, softball, volunteer.
•Salary revision for Lindsay Roe for achieving the level of Master’s + 15 years.
