Robert “Bob” L. Turner, 79, of Bryan passed away Wednesday evening at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He was born on August 24, 1938 in Toledo to Burl J. and Lena E. (Dick) Turner, the 12th of 13 children.  Bob graduated from Montpelier High School in 1956.  On April 22, 1961 he married Barbara R. Henry in Montpelier and she survives.

Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier.  In 2003 he retired from Winzeler Stamping Company in Montpelier after 11 years as a supervisor.  Prior to that he worked at Hause Machine in Montpelier as a hands-on supervisor for 28 years and at the Montpelier Municipal Utilities Light Department.

During his retirement years Bob and Barb enjoyed exploring and traveling the United States in their Fifth Wheel travel trailer and made many good memories camping with their grandsons.  He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, his “Brownies” and especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barb; two sons, Tony (Diane) Turner of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Randy (Barbie) Turner of Montpelier; two grandson Collin and Clay Turner; three brothers and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation for Bob will be on Saturday, February 10th from 10am-12pm at the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier.  Services will follow at 12 pm at the church with Pastor Frank Kampel to officiate.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.  Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church.  Condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
