Ohio State University Extension will be offering a Dining with Diabetes series Mondays, October 15, 22, and 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 810 Scott Street, Napoleon.

This series is open to those with diabetes, their family members and caregivers, or anyone looking to improve their eating habits.  The cost is $25/person for the entire series (discounted price for a support person), and pre-registration is required by calling the Fulton County OSU Extension Office at 419-337-9210 by October 12.  Participants are encouraged to attend all class sessions.

You will learn how to prepare meals that are healthy, easy to prepare and taste good.  Recipes will be demonstrated, and participants will have the opportunity to taste each one.  Participants will also learn up-to-date information on nutrition, meal planning, exercise and how to understand common diabetes-related medical tests. Recipe booklets and handouts will be given to each participant.

Diabetes is a very serious and costly disease, but research has shown that those who learn to manage their blood glucose (sugar) levels, eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly can lower their risks of complications and lead a healthier and more productive life.
