WAUSEON, OHIO (FULTON COUNTY) – The fourth day of the James Worley jury selection process is underway in Wauseon with Mr. Worley indicating this morning he is experiencing sleep issues at the Correction Center of Northwest Ohio (rural Stryker).

Worley indicated that late evening court hasn’t allowed for him to get to sleep by a reasonable time at CCNO.  Specifically, Worley’s complaint indicated that he was being woke up at 3 a.m. for medications followed by being woke up again at 5 a.m. for breakfast.

Worley stated, “They (CCNO staff) are interrupting my short period of rest that I do have, and I need to come in here on the ball and awake. I want to pay attention to you and that person and get my first impression of them.”

Worley, 58, is accused of the murder of twenty-year-old Sierah Joughin in July of 2016.

Joughin, a University of Toledo student, was believed to be abducted while riding her bike home in rural Fulton County.  Joughin’s body was later discovered in a shallow corn field grave.

James Worley faces seventeen charges, which in part include aggravated murder, abduction, felonious assault, weapons under a disability, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and gross abuse of a corpse.

If convicted Worley could receive the death penalty.
