The fields surrounding Alvordton came alive with the sights and sounds of tractors on Saturday, Aug. 8, as farmers and community members returned for the annual Plow Days.
The longstanding event once again celebrated the area’s agriculture roots by putting old and new equipment back to work.
Tractors lined the grounds throughout the morning before heading into the fields at 11 a.m. for the main event.
This year’s Plow Days featured the John Deere 20 Series, with many tractors being at least 40 years old.
Well over 60 participants registered for the 2026 event, with more and more trickling in as the day continued.
Rather than serving as just an antique tractor show, Plow Days gives farmers the opportunity to show how the equipment was intended to be used.
Nearly 100 spectators followed closely as they watched tractors make their way across the fields.
Saturday’s festivities kicked off with a breakfast at the Alvordton Church, with the Alvordton Fire Department holding its famous Chicken BBQ Dinner later on in the afternoon.
