The Amboy Township Trustees met for their regular session on Monday, April 27, 2026. The meeting began at 8 p.m. with Trustees Tom Herr Jr., Richard Raab and Justin Simon present, along with Suzanne Holland. Guests included Jessica Geer and John Miller.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by approval of the March 30 meeting minutes.
In financial matters, trustees approved the payment of bills and accepted the March reports.
Under fire department business, trustees accepted the resignation of Lucy Serna from the fire department. The board also discussed Danielle Ladue’s interest in moving from part-time to full-time at the department and approved making Ladue full-time once ladder testing is completed.
The board also noted that fire inspections had been completed at Holy Trinity and Evergreen Elementary. Trustees then reviewed quotes for new gear. FireDex submitted a quote of $37,620, while Atlantic submitted a quote of $38,640.
Trustees approved purchasing eight sets of gear from Atlantic for $38,640. The fire department also presented quotes for an SCBA fill station. Quotes included Atlantic at $59,500 for a manual fill station, MES Revolvair at $64,500 for an auto fill station, Pneumatic Stallion at $69,943.25 for an auto fill station, and Pneumatic Stallion at $58,450.25 for a manual fill station.
Trustees approved purchasing the manual fill station from Pneumatic Stallion for $58,450.25.
In cemetery business, the board noted that Memorial Day is May 25 and signed a cemetery deed.
During regional planning discussion, Simon reported that no inquiries had been made to the county regarding a data center, cell towers, or any petition for annexation.
The board also received a trash complaint at 14060 County Road 2, and the county will send a letter.
In road matters, trustees noted that all road signs were in place for April. The board also approved Resolution 2026-04-01 to purchase 150 tons of salt through the state salt bid.
Under old business, the fiscal officer reported plans to attend a cybersecurity webinar, and it was noted that the Fulton County Township Association membership drive has started.
In new business, the board received the March sheriff’s report, which included 18 complaints.
The safety minute focused on distracted driving and reminded motorists to be aware of farm equipment on the roads. Trustees also reviewed a public records request policy and approved increasing copy fees to 25 cents per page, plus postage when copies are mailed.

The board also received the Fulton County Auditor’s example of a property tax breakdown for Amboy Township, based on $100,000 in property value.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 25, which is Memorial Day, at 8 a.m. The meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
