On Friday, May 8, the Archbold Board of Education met in a Special Meeting to formally sign on its new district treasurer, Connie Nicely. Initially, she will serve as a consultant for interim services from June 1, 2026, through June 30, 2026.
Effective July 1, 2026, Nicely will begin her A three-year contract also approved for was also approved for Nicely as Treasurer, effective July 1, 2026, through July 31, 2029.
A statement from Board President Jeremy Hurst on behalf of the board of education reads: “The Archbold Board of Education is pleased to announce the hiring of Connie Nicely as the district’s new Treasurer.
“She brings extensive experience in school finance and a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency. The Board is confident that Connie will be a valuable addition to the district’s leadership team, and we look forward to working together to support our students, staff, and community.”
In other business, the board approved the following items:
-One-year contract for Madilyn Coler as a Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

-One-year contract for Naomi Smithmyer as a Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
-Resignation of Jody Hulbert effective at the end of the contracted year.
-Retirement resignation of Chris Moore effective June 1, 2026.
-One-year contract for Heather Stillwell for Lunchroom for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board also moved to reschedule its next regular meeting. Originally slated for Monday, May 18, at 5 p.m., the next session has been reset to Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
