(September 11th, 2014)-WAUSEON: Taking on the visiting Tigers of Liberty Center, Wauseon had a fight on their hands. The Lady Indians were taken to the brink by Liberty Center, as the match came down to a third and deciding set. From game 1, this match was competitive. The girls of Wauseon were able to prevail, however, winning the set 25-20. The Tigers had an answer, though. They took game 2 in convincing fashion, 25-15. Liberty Center tried to build on that momentum, in game 3 but the Indians held on to win the set and the match 25-17.

(September 12th, 2014): In one of their more competitve matches of the season, the Eighth Grade Lady Indians took on the Locomotives of Montpelier. Wauseon was able to take the match in straight sets, but both games were hard fought. Both sides started strong, making for an entertaining game. The Lady Indians came out on top, however, 25-22. The Lady Locos upped their intensity in game 2. It wasn’t quite enough, as Wauseon took the set, 26-24.
(September 13th, 2014)- The Stryker Junior High Cross Country Team made the trek to Ottawa-Glandorf to compete in the school’s invitational on Saturday. 152 girls and 210 boys took part in the event. Only two of those girls represented Stryker, while the boys were able to place third out of nineteen teams. Abigail Grice was the first Lady Panther to finish, crossing the line at 15:47, good for fifty-sixth place. Emily Banks completed the race at 20:51. (September 13th, 2014)-TOLEDO: 12 shots at the Central Catholic goal wasn’t enough for the Lady Indians to pull out a win on the road. The girls from Wauseon traveled to Toledo to take on the Central Catholic Fighting Irish on Saturday. They returned to Wauseon with a loss, however, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat. Indian Keeper Ashleigh Allison had 5 saves on the game. Her teammates were able to get 12 shots at the Central goal, but they couldn’t get any of them in the net.
(September 12th, 2014)-KALIDA: In a tough road loss, the Blackbirds gave everything they had against Kalida. It wasn’t enough, though, as Kalida escaped with a 1-0 win. Pettisville took 6 shots at Kalida’s goal. Their goal was targeted 7 times. Jordan Kortokrax scored the lone goal of the game, giving Kalida the victory.

WAUSEON, OH – The Fulton County Commissioners have recently received word from the State of Ohio’s Office of Community Development (OCD) that they have been awarded a $300,000 Competitive Set-Aside Grant for the Wauseon Downtown Revitalization Grant. Out of ten applications submitted to the State of Ohio, Wauseon was one of five applicants approved to participate in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Downtown Revitalization Program. Tanner Clingamen earned medalist honors on the day, shooting a 39 for Stryker. Panther teammate Hayden Clingamen was close behind with a 43. Chad Ruffer and Cody Hall each put up a 48 in the victory.
