The Village of Blakeslee is calling all wishing to spread holiday cheer to participate in their upcoming Christmas Parade. The parade will take place on Sunday, December 15, just in time to celebrate Christmas.

At their council meeting, held on Wednesday, November 6, around 6:00 pm, village officials discussed the upcoming details and plans to kickoff the holiday season.

They first began by approving the minutes from the October 2nd meeting, as well as discussing the conditions of the new contract with ARS.

After discussing the business of the village, they moved on to plan the Christmas Parade. They began to think of ideas to make this parade as merry and joyful as possible.

The first Santa Parade took place last year in 2023. Blakeslee had a great turnout and decided to make the parade an annual tradition to be enjoyed each year.

Those who attend the event can expect snacks and hot cocoa, beautiful lights and scenery, and a joyful time with family and friends.

In order to make the event a success, the village is reaching out to anyone who has something to add, big or small, to decorate a vehicle or just join the fun.

The parade is set to start behind the Catholic Church and head south down Washington Street.

For those wishing to register, ask questions, or express interest, contact Mayor Eric Jenkins at 419-786-9094 or Linda Muehlfeld at 419-272-2714.

Bring the kids to meet Santa, watch the parade of lights and decorations, or even come enjoy some warm coffee or hot chocolate.
