BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES: Township Board Reviews Fire Services, Drainage & Road Projects

The Bridgewater Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2026, at the township hall. The meeting was called to order at 8 p.m. by Austin Rummel.

Roll call showed Austin Rummel, Mike Elser, and Gary Cogswell present, with Doug Hinkle absent. Also attending was Madison Township Fire Chief Jason Marvin

A motion was made by Austin Rummel and seconded by Mike Elser to approve the minutes and financial report.

Trustees also approved payment of the bills. Trustees signed the April bank reconciliation along with purchase orders.

Trustees reviewed the Ohio Grass Roots Clippings newsletter outlining force account and competitive bidding limits for 2026. Fire run reports from the Village of Montpelier were also reviewed.

An email was received from Williams County Township Association Clerk Deanne Batterson notifying trustees of the upcoming Williams County Township Association meeting scheduled for May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Williams County East Annex Building.

During the meeting, trustees discussed drainage issues within the township as well as upcoming chip and seal projects.

Fire services provided to Bridgewater Township through Madison Township were also discussed.

Trustees stated they had no concerns regarding the current arrangement and felt the partnership was working well for Bridgewater Township.

Chief Marvin agreed on behalf of Madison Township.

With no further business to address, a motion was made by Elser and seconded by Rummel to adjourn the meeting at 8:26 p.m.
