The Bryan City Schools Board of Education convened for its regular meeting on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Mose Issac Field House Conference Room.

All board members, Ben Camarillo, Deb Opdycke, Dustin Schlachter, Caleb Turnbull, and Lynn Wieland, were in attendance.

The meeting began with the approval of the minutes from the October 13, 2025, regular board meeting. The 2025 cross country state qualifying team was recognized in a student spotlight.

The treasurer’s report included general financial recommendations and a generous donation of $4,991.22 from the George Azar and Mary Ade Issac Memorial Fund for the Student Assistance Fund.

The board also discussed ongoing business, noting updates on construction for the high school expansion project. The District Safety Drill was scheduled for November 12, 2025, which will have a mock bus crash for students to view and participate in. The Arts and Education Open House Event will be held on November 19, 2025.

Superintendent Mark Rairigh gave his Administrative Recommendations, which included the approval of 22+ Graduates for the end of the 2026 school year. Several early-graduating students were listed as well: Baylee Barnette, Ava Kinzer, and Jalen Fort.

Rairigh gave an overview of the Parkview Sports Management First Amendment and established the Winter Indoor Track as a Club Sport for 2025-2026. The 2027 Orchestra Trip to Orlando was tentatively scheduled for 2027.

Personnel recommendations included the approved retirements of Teresa Partee (4th Grade Teacher) and Elizabeth Kline-Zuver (Gifted Services Coordinator/MS/ HS ELA Teacher).

A renewal of three-year administrative contracts for Kim Miller (Occupational Therapist) and Vanessa Resendiz (ESL Coordinator) were passed. The resignation of Chad Henry as girls golf head coach was also accepted.

The board then heard a second reading of numerous policies, which comprised areas such as nondiscrimination on the basis of sex, attendance, school safety, student abuse and neglect, and released time for religious instruction during the school day, and many more. The finalized policy will be voted upon for approval at the next meeting in December.

A first reading of policy changes involving replacements, rescindments, and technical corrections was also held.

The Ohio School Board Association Annual Conference was noted to take place November 16 – November 18, 2025. At 6:45 p.m., the board then moved into an executive session to discuss the employment and compensation for an employee.

After returning to open session at 7:20 p.m., they toured the ongoing construction site for the high school expansion project. The meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m. with no objections.

The next Bryan City Schools Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
