COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT … Walmart gave out two large checks at the May 10, 2022 public announcements event held in front of the Bryan Ohio store. Chasity Yoder, from United Way, happily accepted a check for $1,750 to be used for the WC Dolly Parton/Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. The awarding of two grants to local organizations, a Ribbon Cutting ceremony, and a promotion were all celebrated on Tuesday morning, May 10, 2022, in front of the Bryan, Ohio Walmart. The Bryan High School Band was there to help mark the events being celebrated.

Store Lead, Laura Hays, was very excited to announce the great step forward in starting Online Delivery for local customers, calling it a “monumental occasion.”

Presently they are delivering in Bryan, but hope to expand to cover the county.

Deliveries come with a $7 to $8 fee, with an order of $35 or more being free, and an express order (in two hours) costing $10. For those who want to do this on a regular basis, a membership is available for $98 per year that covers all deliveries, 10cents off every gallon of gas at Murphy’s, Exxon and Mobile gas stations, and Scan&Go at the store.

Katie Shaffer from Sarah’s House and Chasity Yoder from United Way were thrilled that Walmart chose their organizations to receive grants.

They were each given oversized celebration checks to mark the occasion and expressed their gratitude to Walmart.

Auto Care Center employee Andy Gambler was promoted to Assistant Manager of the ACC, at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, as well. His wife and child were present to enjoy that moment with him.

Many customers stopped to see what was going on and heard the news of Online Delivery.

Walmart also offered a large gift package to Mayor Carrie Schlade who asked them to give it to Chamber Director Dan Yahraus, due to gift regulations for elected officials.

Yahraus received a number of items including a one-year membership that will allow free delivery. Cupcakes were available for anyone present, and some gift bags were given out also.
