Cameron Foundation Nursing & Allied Health Scholarships Awarded

Angola, Ind. – Four graduates from the Steuben County area are the recipients of the 2014 Cameron scholarships for nursing and allied health professions, presented by the Cameron Hospital Foundation, according to Foundation Executive Director, Laura Lutterbeck. Award recipients were selected on the basis of scholarship and the potential for success in their chosen field of study.

Audra Lantz, from Fremont High School is a recipient of a $1,000 nursing scholarship. She is a member of the National Honor Society, student council, choir, and was the Captain of the Fremont cheerleading squad. Lantz plans to attend Ball State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Sidney Dunn, also a student from Fremont High School, is a recipient of a $1,000 allied health scholarship. She has served as the President of the National Honor Society, a member of the NECC all academic math and science teams, and volunteers for various community organizations. Dunn plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering at Southern Adventist University.

Shawna Carbone, from Prairie Heights High School, is a recipient of a $1,000 allied health scholarship. Carbone is a four year athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball. She is also active in the National Honor Society, Leo Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and student government. She plans to pursue a degree in exercise science at Trine University.

Elizabeth Lung, from Angola High School is a recipient of a $1,000 allied health scholarship. She has been very active in the band, participating in the IMEA Honor Band, IPFW Honor Band, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as participating in the French Honor Society and the 2014 Angola spring musical. Lung plans to attend the University of Evansville to study music therapy.
