Although the Hay Jay School closed its doors in 1957, it has been preserved as a window in time to classroom instruction of an earlier generation. Explore the year 1901 and see what a typical school day would entail with McGuffy Readers, slate boards and puncheon desks. On Sunday, June 1, from 1 to 4 pm the schoolhouse will be open for everyone to enjoy. It is located 2 1/2 miles north on County Road 8, off US 20.
