Archbold, OH – From antique dolls, teddy bears and doll clothing to modern collectibles, doll furniture and accessories. Founders Hall will be filled with exhibitors and bustling with activity on August 1 and 2 as doll lovers and collectors gather for the Doll & Teddy Bear Show and Sale at Sauder Village in Archbold.

“We’re excited about all that our 32nd annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show and Sale has to offer,” shared Kim Krieger, PR/Media Relations. “With doll exhibitors, guest artist Stephanie Sullivan Tackett, doll-themed workshops and even a Raggedy Ann event for children – there will be plenty for guests to enjoy throughout this fun-filled weekend.”

Through the years the Sauder Village Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale has maintained a reputation for its impressive scope of quality collectibles. For the 32nd Annual Doll Show, Founder’s Hall will be filled with tables to showcase these treasured dolls and bears. At this always-popular show guests can shop and enjoy an excellent variety of high-quality items including antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears, and modern collectibles. Also available will be accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books and patterns. This is an exciting opportunity to view an unusually extensive assortment of quality merchandise and meet other doll collectors who share the same passion for quality, craftsmanship and uniqueness.

Again this year, special workshops and lectures are being held during the doll event. Spaces are still available in guest artist Stephanie Sullivan Tackett’s 2-day workshop “Creating Beautiful Ethnic Reborns with Genesis Heatset Paints”. Cindy McGuire of China Cupboard Bears is offering a Teddy Bear making class and a Doll Dinner Lecture is also on the schedule. There is still availability in all workshops and lectures. For more details or to register call Sauder Village at 1-800-590-9755 or visit the website at www.saudervillage.org

In celebration of Raggedy Ann’s 100th birthday, a special “Young Collector” event is being held on Sunday afternoon. Children ages 5-12 years old (and a parent or guardian) are invited to attend this special event on Sunday, August 2 from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Heritage Inn. Pre-registration is required for this event that includes a scavenger hunt, story time, craft activity and snack (kids can even come dressed like Raggedy Ann!)

On Sunday, August 2 guests are also invited to watch a special presentation that will be made by Good Bears of the World to a local Fire Department. An international charity that gives teddy bears to children in trauma situations and the lonely elderly, Good Bears of the World will be donating teddy bears to this local fire department.

Other upcoming events at Sauder Village include the Rug Hooking Event August 12-15 and a Barbershop Sing on August 22. September events at the Village include Home School Appreciation Days, Preserving Our Memories, Celebrate Our Artisans, Apple Butter Making and a new Fiber Arts Fest.
