Bryan 7, Napoleon 1
BRYAN — Bryan rallied from a one-run deficit to defeat Napoleon, 7-1, in a Division IV sectional baseball final at Sumpter Field.
The Golden Bears (15-10) trailed 1-0 after four-and-a-half innings before finally getting untracked with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and added four more runs in the sixth to advance to the district tournament.
Tucker Miller led a 14-hit attack for Bryan with three hits and scored a pair of runs.
Carter Luce drove in two runs with a pair of hits and scored twice. Cade Carlin and Hunter Watson each contributed two hits.
Cade Carlin was also the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits in the complete-game victory to go along with seven strikeouts and three walks.
Bryan now faces NWOAL archrival Wauseon in a district semifinal on Wednesday, May 27 at Archbold’s Memorial Park. It’s a rematch of a contest played on May 9 with Wauseon outlasting Bryan, 15-14, in 11 innings.
