Dale L. Klopfenstein (1934-2016)

Klopfenstein, age 82, of Wauseon, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Toledo Hospital.  He was born in Wauseon on September 19, 1934 to the late Arthur Klopfenstein and Alice (Merillat) Klopfenstein.  Dale was a graduate of Pettisville High School in 1952.  He was preceded by his wife Judy Allen Klopfenstein and later married Beverly Gorsuch Frey on September 11, 1991.

Dale was a Veteran having served with the U.S Army.  Along with being a lifelong farmer, he enjoyed fishing in Canada, card playing, following his grandchildren in their sports activities and spending time with his coffee buddies.

In addition to his wife, Beverly Klopfenstein; he is survived by his children, Thomas (Rose) Klopfenstein and Rodney (Linda) Klopfenstein; stepchildren, Luke Frey, Matthew Frey, Leigh Ann (Michael) Mattin, Ronnie (Bob) Waidelich, Rick (Rachel) Allen, Tracey Allen and Tom (Lisa) Allen; brother, Marlin (Marcine) Klopfenstein; sisters, Donna (Delmar) Gautsche, Pauline (Marv) King, Phyllis Yoder and Linda Riegsecker; 13 grandchildren and loving great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 398 S. Shoop Ave, Wauseon, Ohio 43567.  Interment at Pettisville Cemetery will precede the memorial at 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon or Freedom International Ministries (Suon Family), 2905 E. 46th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
