David Blaine Spiess, 65 years old, of Lyons, born June 25, 1957 to the late Blaine Wilson Spiess and Helen (Dick) Spiess, passed away in his home suddenly on September 4, 2022.
Dave as he liked to be called, had a passion for horses that ran deep in his family roots. He also loved to fish with his brothers-in law, Ed and Joe; ride four wheelers, motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Dave ran the Spiess Drywall Business after his father retired in 1996. His nickname was the “Bazooka Kid”, because our dad said he was the best in the drywall business.
Dave had a lake house at Devil’s Lake, that all the family members share many memories of, where he hosted family gatherings and cookouts on holidays.
Dave’s parents, Blaine and Helen Spiess preceded him in death and leaves behind his three sisters, Pam Rosol (Joseph), Gail Elton (Edward) and Merrilee Jung (Roger); two nieces, four nephews, five great nephews and 3 great nieces.
Friends and family will be received at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St Hwy 109, Delta, Ohio 43515 on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delta Youth Baseball, P.O Box 43, Delta, Ohio 43515 in Dave’s memory.
