The Delta High School gymnasium is home to a new LED video board following generous donations from multiple partners and families.
According to a release from Athletic Director Walter Steele, donations from North Star BlueScope Steel, Gerald Grain Center, Fulton County Processing, the Delta Panther Basketball Club, and the Sprow and Eicher families allowed the project to be funded at no cost to the district.
“We’re grateful to the supportive community that’s willing to give our students top-notch experiences through the generous donations of the community and some corporate neighbors,” Superintendent Doug Ford said.
Steele wrote that the donations also funded the installation of LED lighting on the backboards and to upgrade electrical wiring in the gym, “further modernizing our facilities and improving the game-day atmosphere for all who attend.”
Ford said he believed the video board cost just under $100,000, with the remaining upgrades pushing the total upgrades to about $124,000.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have a community that continues to invest in our students and programs,” Steele wrote.
“The support from these organizations and families not only enhances our athletic facilities but also reflects the pride and unity that make Delta such a special place.”
