The Village of Delta has hired Andy Glenn as their new Village Administrator. Mr. Glenn has been a Springfield Township Trustee for the past 20 years and was also the Zoning Administrator in Maumee for 17 years.

He has been married to his wife for 30 years and has two daughters who are each grown. Mr. Glenn is from around the area, graduating from Springfield High School in 1988 and later from the University of Toledo in 1992 with a degree in Law Enforcement.

Mr. Glenn explained that he is looking forward to working in the village. “I am looking forward to the opportunity this position presents and to trying to find solutions to pressing issues being faced by the village.”

“The largest one that I need educated on fast is the water issue with the plant and the needs it has, the expenses that are involved, and the history of it.”

“That and the second thing is figuring out the issues and EPA requirements with the wastewater plant as well.”

“Everyone tells me about the high-water rates paid for by the residents and I will be trying to look and see if there is any way possible to release some of the burdens residents face with that.”

“I am hoping to find some solution to that, so it is not as much of a financial burden for residents, especially those on a fixed income.”

“Growing up in Northwest Ohio, I have been through Delta. I like the small town feel and I like that you have legacy families that grew up here and have stayed here.”

“The western area of town provides us an opportunity to expand with commercial and industrial growth.”

“I think Delta is poised for growth and I think if we pay attention to creating more of a sense of space that people want to live in like improving the parks, main street, giving people more activities, things to do and places to eat, it will foster residential growth and spark interest for developers to build homes in town.”

Glenn explained that he knows several developers in the Northwest Ohio area and that he would like to sit down with them and discuss housing for the Delta community.

“I would like to understand from their prospective why housing isn’t getting built when there is an obvious need for it. What can the village do to make it more attractive to build out here.”

Glenn also explained that he is looking forward to creating good relationships with other local entities such as the school.

“I have had a great relationship with the school board and administration staff at Springfield schools. It is good for government entities in the same area to be on the same page.”

“With a new superintendent coming in, it is going to allow us to come in, each with a clean slate in order to foster good cooperation between the village and the school system.”

Mayor Frank Wilton expressed faith in Mr. Glenn’s abilities due to the amount of knowledge he has. “We have a new administrator that brings in a different background and a different point of view.”

“He has a plethora of knowledge as far as the political and administrative aspect of things go due to where he was at before,” said Mayor Wilton.

Mr. Glenn has expressed his desire to interact with members of the Delta community. “I would like to invite residents to stop in, call or email me if they know of issues, they think are important and have not been addressed.”

“I plan on meeting as many residents as I can in order to be the most effective in this position.”
