Students with the Delta Student Council program raised money for the annual Coach Cory Backpack Buddies Program. The program involves Delta Elementary students by having them fill backpacks full of food that will then be donated to families in need.

A total of 169 students participated in the lock-in which took place from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.

Students are put into teams that then compete in different games and activities against each other, with a lip sync contest taking place at the end.

The winning team at the end of the night received prizes that were donated from local businesses.

One competition that took place was to see which team was able to bring in the most donated items. In total, around 300 items were donated to Open Door that ranged from cleaning supplies, food and toiletry products.

From start to finish, around 60 volunteers made up of teachers and parents throughout the district helped to make the night possible.
