Dennis “Denny” E. Keesbury, 73, of Montpelier passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on December 14, 1949 in Bryan to Dorman Lee and Mary Ann (Pignataro) Keesbury. Denny graduated from Montpelier High School, then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, he was a Combat Veteran. On March 4, 1972 he married Linda M. Kissinger, and she survives.
Denny was a life member and commander for 15 years at the VFW Post 944 in Montpelier, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 109.
In 2015, Denny retired from Watson Well Drilling in Bryan after 45 years of service. After retirement he worked for the Village of Montpelier Parks and Rec Department, mowing grass.
He coached Miller’s Body Shop Little League for many years. Denny lived a life of servitude to his country and village and asked nothing in return.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda; daughters Michelle (Michael) Schudel and Cindy (Sam) Schlosser all of Montpelier; grandchildren Taylor Schlosser, Megan Kreischer and Austin Schudel; siblings Richard (Donna) Keesbury of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Jerry Keesbury of Montpelier, Jimmy (Becky) Keesbury of Montpelier, Bob (Renee Garrow) Keesbury of Montpelier, Larry (Verna) Keesbury of Edgerton and Joe (Mary) Keesbury of Montpelier and many nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie Keesbury and grandson Kasey Kreischer.
Visitation for Denny will be on Thursday, September 14th from 2-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will be on Friday, September 15th at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Benaiah Harris to officiate. Military Rites will be provided at Riverside Cemetery following the service.
