Donald L. Momyer (1931 – 2014)

donald momyer WEBDonald L. Momyer, 83, of Fayette, died Sunday night, October 12, 2014, at Heartland of Wauseon, where he has resided for the past several years. He was born on June 17, 1931, in Waldron, MI, to the late Clarence and Ethel (Baker) Momyer. He married Rachel JoeAnne Smith on September 1952, in Angola, IN, and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2007.

Don was a 1949 graduate of Morenci High School, and proudly served his country from 1952-1954, as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Chase Brass & Copper for 26 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Morenci Bible Fellowship Church.

Surviving Don are five sons, Kevin “Bob” Momyer of West Unity, OH, Donald “Ted” (Tammy) Momyer of West Unity,  Timothy Momyer (and Birdie Baumgartner) of Fayette, Patrick “Gene” (Debi) Momyer of Morenci, MI, and Ronald (Julie) Momyer of Wauseon; eighteen grandchildren, Joshua, Catrina, Ryan, Natasha, Zachary, Dusty, Matthew, Beth, Crystal, Tammy, Carrie, Kristy, Eric, Noah, Caleb, Brittany, Jordan, and Hannah; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by two sons, Allen Laverne and Randy S. Momyer; a sister, Evelyn Miller and daughter in-law, Mary Jane Momyer.

A memorial service for Donald Momyer will be held Sunday,  October 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Morenci Bible Fellowship Church  with Rev. James Yatzek officiating.  Interment will take place in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations in honor of Donald to the Morenci Bible Fellowship Church.
