Dorothy Irene Winright, 94, of Montpelier and formerly of Edon and New Port Richey, Florida, passed away early Tuesday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on November 27, 1920 in Montpelier to William and Eva B. (Campbell) Strobel. Irene graduated from Montpelier High School in 1938 and attended every class reunion or get together that she could. She married Clinton C. Winright and he preceded her in death in October 1958.
Irene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, West Jefferson. She was an avid NASCAR fan and all other sporting events. Irene loved T.V. game shows and to read.
Irene is survived by two sons, John (Marilyn) Winright of Fremont, Indiana and Tom (Patty) Winright of Holland, Michigan; two daughters, Bonnie J. Warner and Judy DeMuth, both of Montpelier; one daughter-in-law, Pam Winright of Bradenton, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Florence Strobel, of Montpelier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clinton, long time companion James Barnett, son William Winright, son-in-law, Dr. Gary DeMuth, grandson Justin DeMuth, two brothers Charles Strobel, Sr. and Fred Strobel, Sr., and one sister Betty Golding.
