The Edgerton Local Board of Education met on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Annex Board Room, addressing a full agenda of financial, staffing, and administrative matters. Bob Siebenaler, Bill Swank, Nick Hug, Lyn Bowsher, and Amanda Giesige were in attendance. Ben Wilhelm and William Blakely were present as well.

The board approved the waiver of reading and signing minutes from both the June 23, 2025, and June 30, 2025 meetings, as well as the July 18, 2025, special meeting.

Members also reaffirmed that all board meetings remain open to the public, with special participation time allotted for any interested community members.

Several agreements and services were approved, including a contract with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center (NWOESC) for English Language Learner specialist services.

A Title I Memorandum of Understanding providing pooled services for students at St. Mary Catholic School was additionally passed.

Cafeteria prices for the 2025-2026 school year were set, with all students in grades PK-12 to receive free lunches. Adult lunch remains at $5.00 per meal.

The board accepted the resignation of Zachary Scott, effective July 9, 2025, and Jenni Heisler, who stepped down as an elementary aide at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year.

Employment approvals included substitute and long-term substitute teaching assignments, as well as a one-year contract for Heisler to return as a retire-rehire English Language Arts teacher for grades 7 and 8.

On the treasurer’s agenda, members approved financial reports, bills for payment, and appropriation modifications for June and July.

Investment transactions were reviewed, with balances reported across StarOhio, RedTree, WesBanco, State Bank, and Hicksville Bank accounts.

The board also authorized a one-mill Permanent Improvement tax settlement transfer for building upkeep of the OSFC building.

This is a yearly requirement from the Ohio Facilities Commission. Revised pay rates were approved for classified staff, supervisors, and principals.

Under the superintendent’s agenda, the board approved bus routes for the new school year and formally adopted the district security and safety plan.

Personnel recommendations included approval of contracts for Andrew “Scott” Heater as a cafeteria worker and bus driver, Patrick Rendleman as a custodian, and Jordan Bok as a substitute teacher.

The meeting concluded with principal reports highlighting the new school year, upcoming events such as Grandparents Day and Homecoming, and the recognition of student and athletic activities. Grandparents’ Day is to be held on September 19, 2025.

The meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
