Edgerton Schools Technology Coordinator Retiring After 15 Years Of Service

RETIREMENT … Shari Saneda, Retiring after 15 years of Service with Edgerton Local Schools.

The Edgerton School Board meeting began with a Call to Order, the Pledge of Allegiance, and Roll Call. Acceptance of the Agenda: Accepted

Revisions and Acceptance of April’s Board Meeting: No Revisions and Accepted.

Approval and Signing of Regular May Board Meeting Minutes: Approved and Signed.

Treasurer’s Agenda & Discussions: SMT Report: Revenues over expenditure is $682,809.00 that’s down $114,000 from last year at this time.

Food Service Report-Participation remains in the 52 to 55% range – Off-setting some of the cost through the esser funds or general fund transfer at the end of the year to off-set the losses and to get through the summer months when food isn’t being served.

Treasurer’s Agenda: Accepted

Recommendations: Improve the financial reports and bills for payment, appropriations, and resource modifications for the month of April. Investments for the Star of Ohio and Red Tree, Premier Bank CD, and Premier Bank Money Market. Possibly pricing CDs with local banks before making a move with Red Tree.

Improve the updated the 5-year forecast.

Improve the resolution in regard to the sale of bonds. This is the refinancing of the refunding of the 2012 bonds. Moving ahead with passing the resolution.

Update to the 457 Plan.

D. Principal Report – Brett Grieser: Appreciation to the students and staff members for all of their hard work. Recognition of hard work and time that went into state testing. Despite covid, Junior Achievement ran effectively. Many thanks to Mrs. Myers with her help with the art club and the 6th grade class. Awards Day on 5/35/2021. Honoring Karen Dominique upon her retirement with recognition and appreciation for her years of service.

E. Principal Report – Mr. Ben Wilhelm: Wrapping up spring sports and recognizing seniors. Prom was held on May 1, 2021 and the gym was beautifully decorated. In April the Junior High and High School performed their band and choir solo ensemble competition and the choir won with superior ratings.

The musical this year was very well done, and everyone had a lot of fun. On Awards Night they had a record number of scholarships given out to the seniors. Four County Student Recognition took place via Zoom. Graduation will take place on May 30 at 2:00 PM on the football field.

F. Technology Report – Ms. Shari Saneda: New Chromebooks distributed last week to the 4th grade for their 5th grade year. Next week for the Freshman year. Updating the Parent Chromebook Agreement.

Notice going out to parents to bring back devices and hotspots. Repair costs for the school year totaled $3,200. The high school had 64 repairs and the elementary school had 38 repairs.

Ms. Saneda expressed her thank you’s and gratitude upon her retirement for her 15 years with the Edgerton Local Schools and she met with a round of applause and appreciation for her years of dedication and service from the school board.
