Eileen “Jane” Smith, age 83, of Wauseon, passed away in Toledo on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Prior to her retirement she had worked at the former Sheridan Manufacturing in Wauseon and also at her own business, Jane’s Cake Shop in Wauseon..
Eileen was born in Wauseon on March 21, 1941, the daughter of Lloyd Lewis and Ruth May (Willey) Buehrer. On January 1, 1960 she married Vivien M. Smith, and he survives.
She was a member of the Wauseon Community Church. She enjoyed baking cakes, NASCAR, Crossword Puzzles, Camping, and babysitting her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband, Vivien; three daughters, Deborah Smith of Toledo, Sandra Hough of Wauseon and Lisa Renee (Jason) Dietrich of Wauseon; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Cecil (Carolyn) Buehrer of Wauseon and Don (Nancy) Buehrer of Archbold. She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Braxton Hough, six sisters, Elsie Taylor, Gladys Bruner, Freda Whittacer, Marilyn Eby, Shirley Porter, and Louise Fisher; and two brothers, Ernest and Woodland Buehrer.
Visitation for Jane will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Tony Scott, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery.
