STATE AG CONTEST … (Left to right) Callie Wyse, Meegan Gleckler, Carson Wyse, and Taylor Johnson represented the Evergreen FFA at the Ohio FFA State Agricultural Communications Contest.

The Evergreen FFA had four members competing in the State Agricultural Communications Contest on Saturday, February 17th. The members included: Meegan Gleckler (grade 11), Taylor Johnson (grade 11), Callie Wyse (grade 9), and Carson Wyse (grade 11).

The team finished the state competition as the fifth-place winner. The FFA members have been working hard in preparations for this contest since the start of December.

Prior to making it to the state competition, the team has completed an online knowledge test about communication and editing skills.

The team developed a media plan proposal and pitch over a farmers’ market. On the day of the state competition, each team member completed an individual communications practicum from website design to video production.

This is the second year the Evergreen FFA has competed in this contest in the last 20 years. After the team learned about the contest last year and made it to the state competition, they made it a goal this year to get into the top 10 this year.

The team will receive a state banner at the Ohio FFA State Convention in May for their success in the competition.
