Fayette Board Of Education: Board Awards Certificate Of Recognition

The Fayette Local School Board held their meeting on Monday, November 15th at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

A certificate of recognition was then presented to Leslie Burrow for being a state contestant runner at the 2021 Cross Country State Competition and for representing the school in a positive and respectful sportsmanship like manner.

The board then moved on to hear reports and updates. Parent/Teacher conferences will be held in person on November 22nd and 23rd unless otherwise requested by a parent or guardian.

A grant application was submitted through Ohio Facilities Construction Commission for help with safety and security of the building. The Veterans Day program was a success.

The five-year forecast was approved and submitted last month. The new budget formula has still not been received which is needed in order to know exactly where the budget numbers will be.


The Eagle Hatch and FFA Alumni hog roast went well and had good attendance. Student Council announced the 2022 Homecoming Court and the winter sports season has begun.

Sponsorship signs are being sought for scoreboard signage from area businesses. The Fall fundraiser was a success with the students that sold 25 items or more receiving an incentive for a limo ride and to eat at McDonalds.

Moving on to the financial reports, the board moved to approve the report for October as well as a certificate of records disposal for fiscal year 2021.


A transfer of $210,000 from the General Fund 001 to Bond Fund 002 was approved. The board then moved to approve multiple donations made to the school followed by numerous personnel changes and additions.

Moving to agreements and policies, the following items were approved. A resolution to establish education requirements for substitute teachers for the 2021-2022 school year.

A contract with Jeff Keefer for snow removal for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons. A 7-year term for Jeanne Johnson as a member of the Normal Memorial Library Board beginning in January 2022.


A Memorandum of Understanding with GFTA for changes to the appendix E, supplemental salary index. The board then moved to adjourn at 6:51 p.m.
