On Wednesday, November 13, the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Wauseon will host its annual Chicken Pie Supper and Bake Sale. This is the 134th year for this delicious tradition which began in 1879 with a fried chicken dinner for 40 and has been held every year since except 1943, when it was cancelled due to sugar rationing. The event has grown and changed over the years to become what it is today — a generous homemade meal served to nearly 1000 people.

Serving begins in the church’s fellowship hall at 5:00 and continues until 7:00 or sold out. A convenient, efficient drive thru carry-out is also available from 4:30 until sold out in the church parking lot. The menu for the dinner continues to include homemade chicken pie and gravy, real mashed potatoes, cole slaw, cranberry salad, and assorted dessert pies.

A bake sale beginning at 4:30 is also a part of this annual event.
The public is cordially invited to come and enjoy this special tradition. The church is located at 129 East Elm Street in Wauseon across from the post office.
