The Swanton branch of FirstFedDelta held a grand opening of its new location at 107 E. Airport Highway on Monday.
The event featured a ribbon cutting organized by the Swanton Area Chamber of Commerce.
“It went great, really great, we had a good turnout,” Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager Shelly Keifer said.
Keifer has worked for FirstFedDelta for 34 years, almost 20 of them as a manager. Although from Whitehouse, she said she loves the people of Swanton, local events, and the community in general.
She said it is her customers and the community that have kept her with the business for so long.
The preparation of the new location involved removing walls, redoing floors, and more. “At one time it was a bank, so the safe was still there and some lockboxes, but pretty much everything was redone,” Keifer said.
As part of the celebration, the branch has some small gifts and is holding a raffle that is open to the public until December 2.
Winners will receive gift cards for different businesses in Swanton.
The branch was previously located at 123 N. Main Street. FirstFedDelta celebrated its 90th anniversary this year.
Chamber Executive Director Delray Busch said she was thrilled to celebrate the relocation, calling the new space “beautifully renovated.”
“This expansion reflects the bank’s commitment to growing with our community and strengthens the resources available to residents and businesses alike.”
“We are proud to have a partner like First Fed Delta investing in the future of Swanton and continuing to foster local economic growth.” Busch said.
