Township officials met Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. with Bert Brown, Donald Imm, and Mark Trausch, along with a few members of the community in attendance. Fiscal Officer Courtny Osborn was absent.
A brief fire report noted that the air compressor has been serviced and is now in good working order. Officials also discussed the township’s tanker and pumper, which could use some brake work. The issue was described as not urgent and will be addressed at a later time. Jeff Rasen will store the new chest plow.
Road and property maintenance were a primary topic of discussion. Paul reported spending time filling potholes and making road repairs.
He also cleaned part of the open ditch responsible for draining the area near State Line Road and County Road 2. Additional discussion focused on ongoing road repairs and drainage concerns throughout the township.
Officials also talked about preparing the new truck for equipment pulling and the need to complete high-speed welding work to get it ready for use.
The board noted that bleachers currently in storage will be needed for summer ball and should remain available until that time.
It was also shared that the Pioneer Fire Department remains engaged in a mutual aid situation, though township officials stated they are not directly affected.
Bills were paid, paychecks were signed, and minutes from the previous meeting were approved before adjournment. The next meeting will be May 5 at 6 p.m.
