Sass (Ford Motor Company Technical Placement Specialist), Logan Beck (student), Colton Koby (student), Tracy Harding (Junior Auto Tech Instructor).

PRESS RELEASE – The Auto Technologies labs recently had the privilege of welcoming two outstanding industry professionals who brought real-world expertise and encouragement to our students.

Dylan McCance, Service Manager at Terry Hendricks Ford in Archbold, spoke about the day-to-day operations of a dealership service department, the types of positions available locally, and the qualities employers are looking for in new hires.

He also shared practical advice on developing strong communication and teamwork skills—key attributes that can set students apart as they enter the workforce.

Todd W. Sass, Technical Placement Specialist with Ford Motor Company, gave students a broader perspective on the automotive industry by highlighting the wide range of career pathways available through Ford.

He discussed how students can continue their education through Ford’s training programs, gain certifications, and advance in technical or management roles.

Todd also emphasized the importance of professionalism, from résumé preparation to interview etiquette and workplace presentation.

Together, Dylan and Todd offered students an inside look at how to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations.

Their message reinforced that success comes not only from technical ability, but also from professionalism, a willingness to learn, and the drive to keep improving.

Students left the session with valuable insights into their future career possibilities, along with renewed motivation to sharpen their skills, pursue additional training, and dream big about where a career in the automotive industry can take them.
