GOVERNOR’S CUP AWARD… On May 20, 2021, as part of their morning meeting, the Fulton County Commissioners received the 2020 Governor’s Cup Award today, awarded by JobsOhio and RGP (Regional Group Partnership), to Fulton County for helping make the Toledo region the First Place Tier II Metro in the United States. The award was presented by Matt Gilroy, Executive Director of Fulton County Economic Development Corporation. Toledo was awarded the 2020 Governor’s Cup Award in March 2021. May 18, 2021, Tuesday morning meeting of the Fulton County Commissioners, saw the passage of Agenda for present meeting and minutes of May 11, 2021, Payment of bills, purchase orders and travel requests, and Increase and transfer of Appropriations for various departments. Also approved were:
-Resolution 360 Award Bid for 2021 Fulton County Seal Coat Project
-Resolution 361 Authorize and Direct the Submission of the 2021 Small Cities CDBG Applications to the Ohio Development Services Agency
-Resolution 362 Enter into Contract 2021-59 with Gerken Paving, Inc. for the 2021 Asphalt Resurfacing Project
-Resolution 363 Authorize Board President to Execute Juvenile Court Grant Agreement 2021-60
-Resolution 364 Approve Amendment #1 to Contract 2021-20 with Genacross Lutheran Services for JFS
-Resolution 365 Approve Draw #13 for CDBG FY19 Grant B-F-19-1AX-1
-Resolution 366 Authorize Board President to Execute FAA Standard form 424 for PY21 Airport Improvement Grant Application
In other business, the commissioners reviewed the Fulton County Juvenile Court 2020 Annual Report and the Consulting Engineer’s Summary Report for the May 11, 2021 Airport Board Meeting.
Mr. Matt Gilroy, of the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation, addressed the Fulton County Commissioners at the Thursday, May 20 meeting, thanking them and the rest of the county leaders for helping to bring the Governor’s Cup Award to Toledo and the surrounding areas.
He then presented the award to the commissioners. This award is annual and recognizes cities and states for the amount of economic growth in their community. Ohio won the Governor’s Cup for development projects per capita.
Toledo won the Governor’s cup for economic development projects in mid-sized cities. Fulton County submitted 9 of the 52 projects (17%) that brought this award to Toledo.
In other business, the Commissioners approved the minutes of May 18, agenda for present meeting, Increase and Transfer Appropriations for various departments, and purchase orders and travel requests. Also approved were Resolution 371 to Appoint Fulton County Humane Agent and Resolution 372 to Accept Resignation of Public Utilities Employee.
Reviews were done of the Weekly Dog Warden Reports for May 1 and 5, as well as the Amended Certification of Cash Payments for Ditch 2141-Myers. With no further business, the meeting adjourned.
