Fulton County Grand Jury Returns Five Indictments

(PRESS RELEASE) – On July 15, 2024, the Fulton County Grand Jury considered indictments charging individuals with Fulton County crimes, according to the Fulton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

-ANDY L. SMART, age 23, of Swanton, OH, was indicted on one count of Domestic Violence, two counts of Assault, and two counts of Obstructing Official Business.

On or about June 16, 2024, he allegedly did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm to a family or household member. On or about June 18, 2024, he allegedly did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm to another; and he allegedly did, without privilege to do so and with purpose to prevent, obstruct, or delay the performance by a public official of any authorized act within the public official’s official capacity, an act that hampered or impeded a public official in the performance of the public official’s lawful duties, and the offense created a risk of physical harm to another. 24CR96.

– JUSTIN R. PERDUE, age 36, of Swanton, OH, was indicted on one count of Failure to Appear as Required by Recognizance. On or about June 25, 2024, he allegedly did fail to appear for his Pre-Trial Hearing as required by the terms of his personal recognizance bond. 24CR101.

– JAMES M. HARRIS, III, age 40, of Toledo, OH, was indicted on two counts of Counterfeiting. On or about June 6, 2024, he allegedly did, with purpose to defraud or knowing that he was facilitating a fraud, pass, utter, sell, purchase, conceal, or transfer a counterfeit obligation or other security of the United States. 24CR100.

– COREY L. ROYER, age 53, of Holland, OH, was indicted on two counts of Robbery and one count of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.

On or about July 4, 2024, he allegedly did, in attempting or committing a theft offense upon Victim or in fleeing immediately after the attempt or offense, use or threaten the immediate use of force, inflict, attempt to inflict, or threaten to inflict physical harm against Victim; he also allegedly did knowingly use or operate a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner or person authorized to give consent. 24CR99.

-JESSICA D. GOOLSBY, age 36, of Swanton, OH, was indicted on eleven counts of Forgery. On or about December 14, 2022, January, 15, 2023, February 6, 2023, February 15, 2023, August 30, 2023, September 5, 2023, September 6, 2023, April 15, 2024, May 2, 2024, and May 6, 2024, she allegedly with purpose to defraud, or knowing that she was facilitating a fraud, did utter, or possess with purpose to utter, a medical note, that she knew to have been forged. 24CR102.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
